Face It European Influences Situated in the lower levels of the InterContinental Grand Stanford, The Place (Level B3, InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong, 70 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East. Tel: 2721 0011) is open to women-only, while its sister, or should that be 'brother', establishment is down the hall at all-male Zanadu. Catering to a mix of hotel guests and local residents, it provides a comprehensive list of treatments with friendly, knowledgeable staff. The spa is lined with plush carpet and lamps, making it feel like someone's home. The cosy beige-and-white treatment rooms are simply decorated with peculiar drawings of Roman gods battling snakes and lions. If you are looking for a thorough facial that really gets into your skin, The Place is it. They offer a 10-stop Swiss hydrating moisturising 'ideal' facial treatment that works wonders. For 90 minutes, a therapist cleanses, exfoliates, removes dirt, and applies a mask to your face, and neck too. While the mask is on, the therapist provides a quick massage on your shoulders and arms - for complete relaxation. When it's all finished, you get another 'wake up' massage to get your body and mind going. For $590, it's arguably one of the best value facials in the city.
